This trail marathon training plan is best for an athlete that has intermediate experience with running and can run at least 8 miles. Examples of experience the half marathon or 25k distance. This plan will start with weekly milage of 24 miles per week across five days of training per week, with an 8 mile first long run. The plan will top out with 60 miles per week and six days per week of training, with a 20 mile long run. This plan assumes access to trails that offer rolling or hilly terrain.
